It is the mission of the City Planning & Community Development Department to carry out the requirements of Wisconsin statutes as relates to city planning, as well as directives from the City's Common Council and Plan Commission as it relates to the current and long-range planning for the city, in order to meet the city's goals and objectives as set forth in the city's Comprehensive Master Plan, resulting in a community that is physically, fiscally, culturally, and environmentally sound.

ANNUAL NOTICE

List for Zoning or Comprehensive Plan Changes Notification

The City Council is required to a maintain a list of property owners who want to receive notice of any proposed zoning action that may affect the allowable use of their property. Section 62.23(7)(d)4., Wisconsin Statutes. Although the City is required to send notice by this Statute, the failure to do so will not prevent an ordinance from taking effect.

The City Council is also required to maintain a list of property owners who want to receive notice of any proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan that affect the allowable use of their property. Section 66.1001(4)(f), Wisconsin Statutes. The Comprehensive Plan does not directly regulate property use, but any subsequent zoning changes must be consistent with the Plan. See Section 66.1001(2m)(a) and (3), Wisconsin Statutes. The City’s failure to send this notice would prevent an ordinance from taking effect.

If you elect to be on either or both lists, the City must send notice by the method you choose. To join either or both lists, you must email the City Planner at fuchs@pewaukee.wi.us or call (262)-691-6007. Please include your name, property address, property tax key number, which list or lists to be added to, and preferred method of notification either via phone, email or direct mail with proper contact information. Note your request to receive notification does not need to be renewed.
