1. What are special assessment charges?

The City of Pewaukee's policy is to assess each property when work is completed and benefits a property. Assessments for roadway projects and drainage projects are capped at a maximum amount that is adjusted annually. Sewer and Water assessments are essentially for the full amount of the project cost minus any over sizing or items that are deemed to benefit the entire system.

2. When do I need to pay my special assessment to avoid interest for the year?

A payment or partial payment of your special assessment made on or before November 1 will avoid the addition of interest to that assessment year.
