The Finance Committee consists of two common council members and one citizen (preferably with a financial background) for indefinite terms appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the Common Council. The Mayor designates the chairman and secretary of the committee. The city administrator serves as the staff representative.
Responsibilities & Information
The duties of this committee include but are not limited to oversight of the municipal budget, borrowing, grants, appropriations and audits, annual fee schedules, and municipal operations planning insofar as those operations affect fiscal matters. No compensation is given.
